Our story
My name is Kristina and my journey to the idea of creating my own skincare brand was due to a combination of fate and chance. Herbs have been always collected in our family, but only for tea for the winter. Regarding my skin, skin care has been very important in my life, but routine. I used commonly available cosmetics from the drugstore. Until there was a problem. Eczema appeared on my face, in the most inappropriate place for a woman. The creams prescribed by the dermatologist were based on corticoids, they alleviated the problem for a while, but not for a long time. Their use burdened my liver and had an overall negative effect on the body.
Therefore, I started looking for an alternative that would be gentle and able to alleviate the symptoms of eczema. This took me back to herbs in my childhood, when my mom used to tell me that there was a medicinal herb for every illness. I started to compare the effects of individual herbs and produce the first creams based on natural ingredients without silicones, parabens and SLES substances. The result came and my skin started to improve. This success "on my own skin" confirmed to me that I was on the right path. Since I am a systematist and I want to understand things in depth, I decided to start studying cosmetics production professionally in Great Britain. After two years, I successfully completed my studies, which opened the way for me to launch my own skincare brand ØRVEI.
I was inspired to choose the name by Scandinavia, where botanical active substances are the basis of cosmetics. Also, the first character in the name "Ø" expresses the importance of maintaining the balance of the skin microbiome. The skincare products include biotic substances such as prebiotics and postbiotics, which support a favorable environment for friendly microbiota on the skin. I place great emphasis on the use of high-quality ingredients whose manufacturers have studies and data on effectiveness. During production, I combine the power of natural ingredients and modern biotechnologies, and in the final phase I use recyclable packaging. Quality is guaranteed by product testing in a laboratory in Oxford in Great Britain. The resulting products are a combination of our own experience, professional study, effective botanical ingredients, strict adherence to production rules, and ultimate customer satisfaction.
